Terms of Reference

  • Membership in the AI Thought Exchange is by invitation only. The founding group of members collectively agree on the rules and practices for extending invitations. No member has the right to veto or invite someone without the approval of the Steering Committee.
  • The Steering Committee collectively decides which discussions, activities, and other engagements the Thought Exchange will undertake.
  • No individual member has the right to issue press releases or public statements on behalf of the AI Thought Exchange. Any public statement will be approved by the Steering Committee. No individual member has the authority to act on behalf of the AI Thought Exchange, including entering into agreements, collaborations, or other binding relationships.
  • There is no fee for membership and no requirement of minimum participation. 
  • The Steering Committee makes the rules and adopts the agenda of the group. While the group does not have a chair, the Steering Committee can elect a Chair at any time and appoint a chair for specific activities on a case-by-case basis.
  • Participation in the AI Thought Exchange shall be professional, cordial, and inclusive. Harassment, aggressive behaviour or attempts to shift the focus, principles, or aims of the group will not be accepted, and the Steering Committee reserves the right to reserve anyone at any time.
  • Members partake in the AI Thought Exchange in their personal capacity. They do not represent their institutions. 
  • The working language of the AI Thought Exchange is English.
